Legislative Deadlines

2024 Regular Session Deadlines:

  • January 16, 2024 – Deadline to submit “regular” bill requests to the Office of Legislative Legal Services AND Introduction deadline for two remaining “early” House bills (submitted by December 1 deadline).
  • January 19, 2024 – Introduction deadline for two remaining “early” Senate bills (submitted by December 1 deadline).
  • January 23, 2024 – Deadline for joint committees to meet with state departments to review strategic plans, regulatory agendas, and budget requests. (§2-7-203 (2), C.R.S.).
  • January 26, 2024 – Introduction deadline for two remaining “early” House bills (submitted by December 1 deadline).
  • February 2, 2024 – Introduction deadline for remaining “regular” Senate bills, except for the Long Bill and supplemental appropriation bills recommended by the Joint Budget Committee.
  • February 9, 2024 – Introduction deadline for remaining “regular” House bills, except for the Long Bill and supplemental appropriation bills recommended by the Joint Budget Committee.
  • February 23, 2024 – House Committee reporting deadline for House bills introduced by the 17th legislative day.
  • March 1, 2024 – Senate Committee reporting deadline for Senate bills.
  • March 8, 2024 – House Committee reporting deadline for remaining House bills.
  • March 15 2024 – Final passage deadline for House bills in the House and Senate bills in the Senate.
  • April 5, 2024 – Deadline to submit requests for resolutions and memorials.
  • April 8, 2024 – Introduction deadline for resolutions and memorials.
  • April 12, 2024 – Committee reporting deadline for bills originating in the other house, other than the Appropriations Committee and Legislative Council.
  • April 12, 2024 – Deadline to submit written requests to the legislative Council for interim studies.
  • April 19, 2024 – Final passage deadline, including any conference committee report, for any school finance bills.
  • April 23, 2024 – Final passage deadline for Senate bills in the House and House bills in the Senate.
  • April 26, 2024 – Appropriation Committee reporting deadline for bills referred to it in the house of introduction.
  • May 1, 2024 – Final passage deadline in the house of introduction for all bills referred to the Appropriations Committee in that house.
  • May 6, 2024 – Appropriation Committee reporting deadline for bills referred to it in the second house.
  • May 8, 2024 – Final passage deadline in the second house for all bills referred to the Appropriations Committee in that house.
  • May 8, 2024 – 120th Day of Session.
